While there are so many benefits from regular exercise, I’d like to take just a moment of your time to list just a few:
- Regular exercise and proper nutrition will make you feel better, stay healthier and live longer. It’s hard work, but the benefits are tremendous!
- Regular physical activity reduces the risk of heart disease, hypertension, high cholesterol levels, diabetes and certain forms of cancer. It also decreases symptoms of depression and anxiety, reduces stress and improves self-esteem.
- Regular exercise makes daily tasks, such as grocery shopping or doing yardwork, much easier on your body.
- Regular exercise keeps your joints, tendons and ligaments flexible so it’s easier to move around.
- Regular exercise increases your energy.
- Regular exercise helps you sleep better
- Weightbearing exercises (walking, jogging) and strength training is one of the best things you can do to help prevent osteoporosis. It keeps your bones and muscles strong!
- Exercise reduces the amount of adrenal hormones your body releases in response to stress. It’s a great outlet for negative emotions such as frustrations, anger and irritability.
